STRIKING MULTIFLEX VER 2.2 RELEASE - 04 NOVEMBER 2022 - WP 6.1+ , PHP 8+ and WOO 7.0+ compatible.
We are pleased to release our 52nd update of Striking MultiFlex.This version of Striking MultiFlex is compatible with WordPress 6.1+ and in addition is full compatibility with all supported PHP Versions including the new PHP 8.0, PHP 7.4 series, PHP 7.3, and older series. Although all our themes are compatible with older php versions be advise PHP 7.1 series, PHP 7.0. series and and php 5.6 series are all deprecated and no longer supported by PHP.

DO NOT UPDATE YOUR WORDPRESS VERSION UNTIL YOU HAVE UPDATED YOUR THEME AND ALL YOUR IMPORTANT FRONT SIDE CONTENT PLUGINS. Wordpress 6.1 has many changes to its core and there is a possibility that your website may critical error if your WordPress updates. Install the Striking update, check all your plugins for WP 6.1 compatibility and install the plugins updates, and only then should you update to WordPress 6.1.

The update will be submitted to Envato ThemeForest for inclusion in their theme library. You will receive an email notification when it is approved and available for download from your Envato account in your Downloads panel. Please note that Envato ThemeForest approval processes have changed in 2022 and we cannot provide any information on their timeline to approval. So we recommend you use the theme internal update function since the update via our API will show in your dashboard at some point in the next 3-24 hrs (the push has to propagate across the web).

RELEASE DETAILS::
This release undertakes maintenance (plugin updates, misc improvements and bug swatting) and has a new desirable feature in Striking MultiFlex: self hosting of google fonts or use of Bunny Fonts for serving of google fonts. Most of you will opt to self host unless you have a webhost with very limiting storage. Self hosting improves website speed as your website no longer fetches your google font from the google font api to serve the font, and self hosting or use of Bunny Fonts for serving the google font results in GDPR compliance.

WHATS NEXT FOR STRIKING MULTIFLEX?:
We are in fact very busy and we will soon be offering to all Striking Clients 2 new update paths:

1) a new version of Striking which has elementor integration:

There will be a fee to transition to it, but it will be limited - we are contemplating about $25-$35. Customers who elect for this will be moved away from the update system at Envato onto our own platform, and have annual or biannual updates instead of having to purchase updates every 6 months. This new Striking iteration is again a seamless upgrade, has some new features such as customizable page width and some other new settings, and integration of 4 other elementor addon plugins. For someone looking to maintain a site, make some minor design tweaks from time to time and maybe build out some new pages or posts with the visual editor this new Striking will be perfect for them and keep them up to date.

THE NEW VERSION OF STRIKING IS FINISHED. By the end of this year we are aiming to complete the new registration, api and demo site so that you can register and obtain your copy. Thereafter Envato will no longer be involved in the updating or renewal processes.

2) Release of WP Champion which up to now has only been available in professional channels to web designers and others in the trade.

WP Champion is a very advanced full featured theme with fluid width, multiple Elementor and other plugin integrations and a huge list of other advanced features. Its our product we use for our own university and govt customer websites and our corporate customers. Its the theme when someone wants everything, and they want actual theme features that allow them to skip the need for some plugins. Just for Woocommerce it has over 250 settings allowing Woo to be 100% customized without having to purchase a slew of plugins direct from Woo. So the target audience is Striking users who are contemplating a very comprehensive redesign or have new projects, and want something well tested, well supported and that has no limitations. Upgrade cost will likely be $89 and again a seamless transition for Striking customers. Unlike almost all other developers we code everything in house so we know how to do this properly! Nothing in the theme is jobbed out.

This is a maintenance release with the focus on updating plugins and misc theme tweaks.  Striking MultiFlex is PHP 8, WordPress 5.7.2+, Woo 5.2.2 compatible.
"Striking 4" (not likely the final name) - an upgrade for Striking MultiFlex owners is complete.  It has customizable width, Elementor integration, a new menu system (hamburger/iphone style) and much more.  We are building out the new support site with a different forum, sales and demo content.  It will likely take all of July to complete this work.  As always with us it will be a seamless upgrade - all your current site will be preserved and content/style transition without impact when you upgrade.  There will be announcements soon.

Please note a prior update version 2.1 released on Sept 10, 2020 had major changes to the core structure of the theme. If you did not review the changelog in that theme update or the expanded discussion at the Support Forum we strongly encourage you to take a few moments and review that changelog as the theme changes were substantial. Certain custom theme functions such as shortcodes, striking widgets and striking custom post types (portfolio and slideshow) are moved to a plugin "Striking Framework Extension" which you install as part of the updating process.

The salient aspects are updating the Revolution Slider Premium plugin, WordPress 5.7 and WooCommerce 5.1+ compatibility and miscellaneous code tweaks and fixes.  PLEASE BE AWARE 2 SLIDERS:  KEN BURNER & ROUNDABOUT SLIDER ARE REMOVED FROM THE THEME.  So once approved at Envato it will be available to download from your Envato account. Regretfully both these sliders are end of life.  The Ken Burner slider was a single product offshoot from the Rev Slider team.  They long ago deprecated the Ken Burner but we maintained it since then (over 5 yrs now).  However its code base cannot jump to the changes in WP 5.7 and you can do the Ken Burner effect with the Rev Slider itself (which is why the stopped supporting the KB slider).
Same is true of the Roundabout Slider.  Its long since lost the support of its original developers.  Its java is very old and not upgradeable for WP 5.7 and php 8.  We suggest switching to the Nivo Slider for now pending the forthcoming Striking release with Elementor, which has other slider options in it.
